Who We Are ~ Established in 1873, Holy Cross is recognized
on the National Historical List, and is the Mother Church of the
Central Florida Diocese.
We are a Christ centered congregation that abides by the Episcopal
tradition. Our congregation leans toward upper middle age, but
we are presently enjoying an influx of diverse, talented, enthusiastic
people, and the metamorphosis has given us an active and renewed
energy as we watch our Church taking off in many new directions
and ministries. We are based in history but moving forward into
the future.
What We Do ~ We have a thriving capital campaign underway
to restore the Church campus and all buildings to their original
condition. Our
Sunday
school is growing, and we are looking forward to even more growth
and involvement. We also enjoy an active adult Sunday school. The
choir, even though few in number, has been called “the best
little Parish choir outside the Cathedral.” Holy Cross’s
primary outreach is our Grace ‘n Grits program which supports
and feeds less fortunate people in the area, serving over 250 meals
each Wednesday evening and over 70 meals on Saturday mornings.
We are very proud of this special ministry. Other ministries include
an energetic Lay Eucharistic Ministry and Visiting teams, a large
Cursillo community, a Parish Wellness team, Altar Guild, and Daughters
of the King, all supported by a very proactive, hard working, and
dedicated Vestry.
Where We Are Going ~ Our congregation of over 200 people looks forward
to your visiting us and becoming part of an exciting and welcoming
Parish with opportunities for involvement in church outreach, community,
and spiritual life.
